Process Engineer III – New College Graduate

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Process Engineer III who is a recent graduate to join its Kalispell, MT team. The role focuses on designing and optimizing manufacturing processes for semiconductor and display technologies, collecting data, performing hardware characterization, and supporting customers.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, analyze, and report data from basic process engineering experiments.
• Perform hardware characterization on equipment and troubleshoot issues, including root‑cause analysis.
• Measure film properties and organize results for review.
• Generate internal documentation, presentations, and technical reports.
• Communicate with customers, vendors, and suppliers to resolve process‑related concerns under supervision.
• Assist in implementing new technologies, products, and analytical instrumentation.

Required profile

• Doctorate degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics or a related field.
• Experience with one or more semiconductor processes such as CVD, ALD, PVD, etch or epitaxy.
• Familiarity with material characterization techniques (e.g., FTIR, XPS, XRD).
