Practice Manager – Plastic Surgery & Aesthetic Services

About the role

The Plastic Surgery Practice Manager oversees daily operations and administrative functions for UAMS Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery services. Working closely with physicians, clinical staff, and multiple university departments, the manager ensures efficient workflow, high‑quality patient experience, and strong financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as subject‑matter expert for daily operations of Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic practices.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors to optimize efficiency, revenue, and cost containment.
• Manage financial workflows for cosmetic services, including estimates, payments, charge posting, and account reconciliation.
• Develop, analyze, and present monthly financial reports to physicians and leadership.
• Coordinate revenue‑cycle activities across departments to ensure timely charge and payment processing.
• Oversee patient scheduling, clinic and surgical capacity, and initiatives to reduce no‑shows.
• Train clinic staff on specialized plastic‑surgery workflows and develop educational materials.
• Identify operational issues, propose improvements, and work with facilities management on space and equipment needs.
• Plan community outreach, educational programs, and marketing events in partnership with UAMS Marketing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Business, Finance or related field with 5+ years of progressive experience in a hospital or outpatient setting, OR high school diploma/GED with 9+ years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience collecting, reporting, analyzing, and interpreting financial data.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, clinical staff, administrative teams, and external partners.
• Preferred: experience in a surgical specialty or physician practice, cosmetic/aesthetic cash‑pay services, and healthcare revenue‑cycle management.
