Postdoctoral Fellow – Biomedical Engineering

About the role

The University of Arkansas seeks a motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to advance research in Biomedical Engineering. The position is funded by a fixed‑term grant and will be based on the Fayetteville campus, working closely with faculty and graduate students.

Key responsibilities

• Design, conduct, and analyze experiments related to biomedical device development and tissue engineering.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate engineering solutions with clinical applications.
• Prepare and submit research manuscripts to peer‑reviewed journals and present findings at conferences.
• Mentor graduate and undergraduate students in laboratory techniques and research methodology.
• Maintain detailed laboratory records and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Bioengineering, or a closely related field.
• Strong background in experimental design, data analysis, and scientific communication.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative research team.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in laboratory instrumentation and biomedical research techniques.
• Experience with data analysis software (e.g., MATLAB, Python, or similar).
• Familiarity with scientific writing and publication processes.
