Postdoctoral Extension Associate – Agricultural Economics

About the role

The Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service is seeking a Postdoctoral Extension Associate to conduct applied economic and financial research on U.S. beef production, focusing on cow‑calf and stocker enterprises. The role blends scholarly activities such as peer‑reviewed publications and grant writing with high‑impact extension work, including producer workshops and decision‑support tools.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and publish research on the economics and finance of livestock production.
• Enhance and modernize the Beef Cattle Standard Performance Analysis (SPA) platform.
• Deliver extension activities, travel to workshops, and assist producers in using SPA tools.
• Analyze large agricultural databases and produce extension briefs.
• Maintain and organize research datasets.
• Contribute to grant proposal development.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, Animal Science, or a related discipline.
• Strong quantitative background with a passion for translating analytics into on‑ranch decisions.
• Evidence of peer‑reviewed research (published, accepted, or strong working papers).
