Postdoctoral Associate – Neurology

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Neurology seeks a full‑time Postdoctoral Associate to conduct independent and collaborative research on brain health, Alzheimer’s disease, and the impact of neighborhood environments. The role is based in Boca Raton, FL and offers the opportunity to contribute to high‑impact scientific publications and grant proposals.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct quantitative analyses for grant‑funded studies on social and built environments, brain health, and dementia risk.
• Develop and execute independent research projects, including data visualization and methodological innovation.
• Prepare research reports, technical papers, and presentations for conferences and team meetings.
• Serve as primary author or co‑author on publications and collaborate with researchers nationwide.
• Assist with grant writing and develop own grant applications.
• Maintain compliance with university policies and safeguard institutional assets.

Required profile

• Doctorate (MD or PhD) in Epidemiology or a related field.
• No prior postdoctoral experience required; 6 months of public‑health research experience preferred.
• Strong learning agility, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Advanced epidemiology training (e.g., causal methods, longitudinal analysis) is a plus.
