Porter - Affordable Housing Property

About the role

Fairstead is a real estate firm focused on affordable housing, owning and managing more than 30,000 apartments across 28 states. This Porter position provides routine cleaning and custodial care of the property's exterior and keeps the premises and facilities clean and hygienic. The posting is advertised with a $2,500 signing bonus.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and inspect the property daily, sweeping, mopping and vacuuming floors, carpets, vents, restrooms and common areas, picking up trash and keeping entrances, lobbies, grounds and exterior areas clear.
• Walk the property daily to check cleanliness and safety and help maintain good curb appeal.
• Report conditions that block cleaning or need extra attention and notify the supervisor of problems.
• Maintain a high level of customer service.
• Carry out assigned cleaning tasks such as carpet cleaning, stripping, waxing and buffing.
• Move supplies and equipment as needed and monitor supply inventory, notifying management when replenishment is needed.
• Remove snow and ice from entrances, sidewalks and walkways where applicable, and place safety signs for wet floors, wet paint and other hazards.
• Respond promptly to spills, cleaning emergencies and other urgent needs.

Required profile

• General interest in custodial and cleaning work with strong attention to detail.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.
