Physician - Gastroenterologist

About the role

We are seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Gastroenterologist to join Ochsner Health in Slidell, Louisiana. The position focuses on general gastroenterology within an integrated, multi‑specialty health system.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive general gastroenterology care, including consults and outpatient clinics.
• Collaborate with a collegial group of gastroenterologists, hepatologists, GI subspecialists, and advanced endoscopists.
• Work alongside Advanced Practice Professionals to manage patient overflow and consults.
• Utilize the EPIC electronic medical record platform for patient management.
• Coordinate with surgery, oncology, radiology, and pathology teams through a strong internal referral network.
• Maintain 24/7 reliable hospitalist coverage coordination.
• Participate in teaching, research, and community service initiatives.

Required profile

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology.
• Commitment to practice in a tort‑reform state and deliver high‑quality patient care.
• Ability to work within a collaborative, multi‑specialty environment.
• Willingness to engage in professional development and leadership roles.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the EPIC electronic medical record system.
• Experience performing advanced endoscopic procedures.
• Familiarity with multi‑specialty collaboration tools.
• Knowledge of healthcare compliance in a tort‑reform environment.
