Personal Injury File Opener

About the role

We are a rapidly growing plaintiff's elder abuse and personal injury practice in Los Angeles seeking a detail‑oriented File Opener. You will be the first point of contact for new cases, ensuring all documentation is complete and properly filed before the case moves forward.

Key responsibilities

• Assess case documentation for completeness and request missing items.
• Review intake and retainer packets for accuracy.
• Enter case information into Litify and update statute‑of‑limitations calendars.
• Communicate with insurance companies and defendants to file new claims and send representation letters.
• Create and organize physical files, then hand them to the Case Manager.
• Handle sub‑in, sub‑out, and dropped files by mailing, faxing, or emailing required documents and updating the system accordingly.
• Answer phone calls promptly and maintain professional standards with clients and the firm.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities.
• Impeccable data‑entry accuracy.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Professional demeanor and clear written and verbal communication.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience using Litify case‑management software.
