Pediatric Inpatient Cardiologist (Physician)

About the role

Ochsner Children’s Hospital is seeking a board‑certified or board‑eligible pediatric cardiologist to lead its inpatient cardiology service, including a 67‑bed Level IV NICU.

Key responsibilities

• Lead inpatient cardiology care in the NICU and cardiac unit, overseeing patient management and consultations.
• Supervise physician assistants and nurse practitioners while teaching medical students and residents.
• Participate in quality‑improvement initiatives and contribute data to national registries such as PC4 and PAC3.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams covering heart failure/transplant, electrophysiology, ACHD, interventional cardiology, imaging, fetal cardiology, and neurodevelopmental clinic.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or board‑eligible pediatric cardiologist.
• Experience in inpatient pediatric cardiology and NICU environments.
• Commitment to academic teaching and research activities.
• Ability to engage in multi‑center trials and publish research.

Required skills

• Clinical expertise in echocardiography, cardiac MRI, and cardiac CT.
• Proficiency in quality‑improvement processes and registry reporting.
• Leadership and team management capabilities.
