Patient Care Technician – Hospital Medicine (H6)

About the role
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) works in Hospital Medicine unit H6 at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. The PCT provides direct clinical support to patients, assists nursing staff, and helps ensure a safe, compassionate care environment.
Key responsibilities
- Perform basic patient care tasks such as bathing, feeding, and mobility assistance.
- Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output, and other clinical observations.
- Assist with specimen collection, wound care, and other routine procedures.
- Document patient interactions and observations in the electronic health record.
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals to coordinate care.
- Maintain infection control standards and ensure a clean patient environment.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Patient Care Technician or related credential preferred.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced hospital setting and follow established protocols.
- Strong communication skills and a patient‑focused attitude.
