Part-Time Security Officer - Hospital

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a part-time Security Officer for a behavioral health client in Richmond, Virginia. The officer monitors and patrols assigned areas, helps deter security-related incidents and supports patients, visitors and staff with good service and communication. The schedule is Monday to Wednesday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors and staff by following security procedures, site policies and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, including medical emergencies, disruptive behavior and visitor concerns.
• Carry out regular and random patrols of entrances, common areas, parking areas and the perimeter.
• Monitor access points and help manage visitors according to site procedures.
• Document incidents and observations accurately and promptly, and share concerns with the right people.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of security-related experience and at least 2 years in a healthcare or medical-related field.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to work in and around a hospital morgue and able to restrain individuals.
• Meets hospital vaccination requirements.
• At least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Valid driver's license required only for driving positions.
• Subject to a background investigation and a drug screen to the extent permitted by law; licensing may be required depending on state or local law.
