Part-time House Manager & Family Assistant (Shaker Heights)

About the role

We are seeking a warm, organized part-time House Manager & Family Assistant to support a busy household of six in Shaker Heights, Ohio. The role focuses on creating a smooth afternoon routine for the children and maintaining household order while providing occasional meal preparation.

Key responsibilities

• Pick up children from bus stop/daycare and supervise after-school routines including snacks, homework, piano practice and chores.
• Maintain the family’s Skylight calendar, plan and prepare 2–3 dinners per week, and handle daily kitchen clean-up.
• Perform daily tidying of the mudroom and kitchen, manage laundry for children and linens, and oversee seasonal clothing sorting.
• Coordinate occasional drop-offs to extracurricular activities and act as point of contact for contractors and service providers.
• Execute light home maintenance tasks such as changing batteries, light bulbs, and checking smoke detectors.

Required profile

• Reliable, authorized to work in the United States, with personal transportation and a clean driving record.
• Warm and engaging with children, able to set gentle boundaries and foster a positive afternoon rhythm.
• Highly organized, proactive and able to anticipate needs before they become larger tasks.
• Clear communicator who values reliability, especially given the parents’ medical professions.
• Spanish language skills are a plus but not required.
