Part-Time House Manager & Family Assistant – Oak Brook, IL

About the role

We are seeking a proactive, organized part‑time House Manager & Family Assistant to support a busy family of six in Oak Brook, Illinois. The role involves maintaining a clean, safe home, assisting with children, and handling various household tasks on a flexible schedule of 24 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily household resets (dishes, vacuuming, surface cleaning, bed making, trash removal) using eco‑friendly, non‑toxic products.
• Keep playrooms, art areas, and kids’ spaces tidy; rotate seasonal clothing and manage size transitions.
• Provide backup childcare, supervise children during work calls, and handle school or activity pick‑ups.
• Assist with travel preparation for kids, including packing, outfit coordination, snacks, and entertainment.
• Process produce, prepare grab‑and‑go snacks, batch‑cook breakfasts, and help with healthy dinner preparation.
• Wash, fold, steam, and organize family laundry and linens, paying special attention to children’s clothing.
• Manage household supply inventories, subscriptions, and run errands such as returns, dry‑cleaning drop‑off, and gift shopping.
• Serve as on‑site point of contact for vendors, oversee outdoor spaces, and help with preparations for the family’s second home in Michigan.
• Perform deep cleaning of appliances, manage compost, clean winter gear, and assist with moving tasks as needed.
• Maintain the family calendar, support travel logistics, and care for the household cat and litter.

Required profile

• Ability to lift up to 40 lb and navigate stairs.
