Part-Time Chinese Language Teacher (Contractor)

About the role

The United Nations Language and Communications Training Unit is seeking part‑time Chinese language teachers to deliver high‑quality language instruction to staff members at UN Headquarters and globally. Teachers will work as individual contractors, preparing lessons, assessing learners, and supporting multilingualism across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and facilitate scheduled Chinese language lessons.
• Correct assignments and homework promptly.
• Monitor student progress and suggest weekly learning strategies.
• Provide group and individual feedback.
• Administer, assess, and grade tests, exams, and evaluation tasks.
• Deliver final student evaluations and attendance reports at the end of each term.
• Participate in language‑project development when assigned, reporting progress and integrating supervisor feedback.

Required profile

• Available to work as a part‑time individual contractor for the UN Language and Communications Training Unit.
• Able to work remotely or on‑site in New York as required.
• Fluent in Chinese and capable of delivering instruction to adult learners.
