Paint Technician A

About the role

The Paint Technician prepares aircraft components and airframe surfaces for painting and executes the painting process in accordance with Airbus procedures, FAA regulations, and customer specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Perform paint preparation tasks such as repairs, sanding, taping, and surface preparation.
• Conduct initial inspections of components to identify defects before painting.
• Execute stripe layout and masking according to customer drawings.
• Apply paint using hand tools, power equipment, and measuring devices, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and Airbus standards.
• Refinish repaired components to meet factory and customer quality requirements.
• Follow OSHA, safety, and environmental regulations, maintain a clean work environment, and support training of other employees.

Required profile

• Minimum four years of experience in painting and paint preparation on metal and composite/fiberglass aircraft components.
• High school diploma or equivalent; trade school education preferred.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to read blueprints, bills of material (BOM), and technical data.

Required skills

• Strong paint preparation and application skills.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power equipment, and measuring devices.
• Knowledge of FAA regulations, customer requirements, and Airbus specifications.
