Optometrist – Board Certified/Eligible Position

About the role

Ochsner Health’s Department of Ophthalmology is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible comprehensive Optometrist to join its Section of Optometry in New Orleans. The role focuses on delivering primary eye care within a collaborative, multi‑specialty environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary eye care, including examinations and diagnosis of ocular conditions.
• Manage contact lens practice and fit patients as needed.
• Participate in Grand Rounds and contribute to the education of Optometry and Ophthalmology residents and medical students.
• Potentially assume teaching responsibilities for medical students and ophthalmology residents.

Required profile

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Optometry.
• Experience with contact lens fitting and ocular disease management is preferred but not mandatory.
• Willingness to engage in teaching and collaborative clinical activities.
