Operation Trade Specialist (Remote – Blacksburg, VA)

About the role

Moog is seeking an Operation Trade Specialist to support and facilitate export activities for its Space and Defense Group. The role is fully remote, reporting to the Regional Trade Compliance Manager, and ensures compliance with U.S. export laws.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the subject‑matter expert on export trade matters, advising internal teams on ITAR, EAR, ATF and OFAC requirements.
• Obtain, create, and manage U.S. government export licenses and authorizations, maintaining them throughout their lifecycle.
• Communicate compliance requirements, provide training, and counsel stakeholders on trade‑related activities.
• Oversee the use of automated licensing tools (SAP GTS, OCR EASE, SNAP‑R, DECCS) and verify the legality and data accuracy of transactions.
• Monitor changes in export regulations and update internal processes accordingly.
• Maintain documentation and records to support audit readiness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum five years of hands‑on export compliance experience.
• Advanced knowledge of U.S. export/import regulations, including ITAR, EAR, ATF and OFAC.
• Demonstrated experience obtaining and managing export licenses and authorizations.
• Highly desirable: ten years of direct export/import licensing experience and familiarity with SAP, GTS, OCR EASE, SNAP‑R, DECCS.
