About the role

The position provides direct patient care within a Veterans Health Administration setting. The nurse will deliver fundamental, knowledge‑based care to assigned clients while building technical competencies and adhering to veteran‑focused care standards.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver fundamental, knowledge‑based nursing care to assigned patients.
• Develop and refine technical nursing competencies on the job.
• Participate in evidence‑based practice, professional development, and research activities as required.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure patient‑centered care.

Required profile

• Proficiency in written and spoken English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7403(f).
• Graduate of a professional nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNE, or equivalent foreign qualification with recognized equivalency evaluation.
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a U.S. state, territory, commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
• For bridge‑program candidates, a state license may be obtained on a temporary basis pending program completion.

Required skills

• English language proficiency for clinical documentation and communication.
