New Product Scientist – DNA Sequencing

About the role

Plasmidsaurus is seeking a New Product Scientist to shape the next generation of DNA sequencing technologies. In this highly autonomous role you will move ideas from hypothesis through experimental validation to market‑ready products, expanding the company’s DNA sequencing portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate new DNA sequencing opportunities through literature review, market analysis and scientific insight.
• Design, execute and analyze experiments to assess technical feasibility and sequencing performance.
• Develop and validate novel library‑preparation methods that broaden the DNA sequencing offering.
• Translate successful concepts into scalable, automated production workflows and support product launch.
• Collaborate with product, bioinformatics, production, automation, commercial, marketing, UI/UX and website teams.
• Guide research associates and laboratory technicians as needed.

Required profile

• Strong scientific curiosity and ability to formulate and test hypotheses rapidly.
• Experience in DNA sequencing or related genomics research and product development.
• Proven ability to work independently and drive projects to completion.
• Excellent communication skills to partner across multidisciplinary teams.
