Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician

About the role

Join 3M’s Nevada, MO site as a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Technician, where you will work alongside innovative engineers and technicians to keep critical production equipment running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, test, repair and adjust AC and DC motors, drive systems, pneumatic, electrical and electronic systems.
• Maintain and troubleshoot control loops, PID loops (4‑20 mA) and industrial PLCs (analog and digital).
• Perform minor installation and modification of control and power wiring up to 480 V AC, complying with NEC and OSHA standards, including intrinsically safe and explosion‑proof wiring.
• Read, interpret and modify AC/DC elementary drawings and wiring diagrams according to 3M practices.
• Execute preventive maintenance tasks such as lubrication following P.M. route sheets or equipment manuals.
• Apply metal‑joining techniques—arc welding, acetylene welding, brazing, soldering—for equipment repair, light metal fabrication, wood construction and painting.
• Set up and operate shop equipment including hand tools, electric and air‑powered tools, carpentry tools, lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses and saws.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum three (3) years of industrial manufacturing technician experience in a private, public, government or military environment, or a technical degree in a related engineering field (e.g., Mechatronics, Industrial Electronics).
