Mobile Engineer – Own Mobile Architecture & Strategy

About the role

We are looking for a Mobile Engineer to take full ownership of our mobile platform. You will shape the technical direction, decide on rebuild or refactor strategies, and ensure the mobile experience aligns with a data‑driven, city‑focused ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate the existing mobile app and define a clear technical roadmap.
• Decide whether to rebuild, refactor, or stabilize the current system.
• Own mobile architecture across Android and assess cross‑platform options.
• Design and implement scalable, maintainable mobile systems.
• Improve performance, reliability, and field usability of the app.
• Establish and enforce code quality and engineering standards.
• Assess Flutter vs native Android trade‑offs and make informed decisions.
• Collaborate with leadership to align mobile strategy with broader platform goals.
• Mentor existing developers and introduce structure to an unstructured mobile environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience building and owning production mobile applications.
• Background in re‑architecting, rebuilding, or modernizing mobile platforms.
• Experience in Android‑first or Android‑heavy environments.
• History of working in fast‑moving, startup‑like product teams.
• Ability to make architecture decisions with incomplete or evolving requirements.
• Familiarity with cross‑platform frameworks and native trade‑offs.
