MH-60R Helicopter Pilot - Instructor and Functional Check Flight

About the role

A Navy position in OCONUS-Juba for a Helicopter Pilot who acts as Instructor Pilot (IP) and Functional Check Flight (FCF) pilot on the MH-60R Seahawk. The pilot performs instructional and test flights to measure and demonstrate aircraft proficiency after maintenance or modification, and provides pilot training and proficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Pilot and navigate the flight for the MH-60R helicopter.
• Provide pilot training and proficiency (IP).
• Assist RSNF-designated FCF pilots with all parts of maintenance functional check flights, including preflight briefing, preflight, flight checks, post-flight and all required FCF documentation.
• Coordinate with maintenance contractors for in-flight troubleshooting of discrepancies and verification of maintenance actions or repairs, through ground and flight checks.
• Guide and help manage an approved MH-60R Flight Operations Program in line with Navy flight manuals, instructions, directives, SOPs and local directives.

Required profile

• Designation as a Helicopter Aircraft Commander (HAC).
• MH-60R Instructor Pilot experience; past designation as MH-60R Instructor and FCF pilot required.
• Able to perform all duties independently.
• Minimum 550 total flight hours, 50 HAC hours in the MH-60R and 100 hours of MH-60R FCF/maintenance testing.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance and facility credentials; US citizenship is required for Secret clearance.
• Pass an aeronautical/flight physical; must be able to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch and crouch.
