Medical Biller / Lien Negotiator

About the role

The Medical Biller/Lien Negotiator supports a personal injury law firm by ensuring all client medical expenses are accurately recorded, billed, and negotiated. This position works closely with attorneys, medical providers, and insurance companies to maximize settlement outcomes for clients.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, track, and update lien statuses for active cases, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Assist attorneys with lien negotiations by gathering documentation, reviewing lien amounts, and organizing settlement information.
• Liaise with medical providers, insurance companies, and lienholders to confirm balances, request reductions, and obtain necessary documentation.
• Accurately record, bill, and track all medical treatments received by clients.
• Verify insurance coverage, file claims, and work with insurers to secure maximum coverage before settlement.
• Maintain detailed records of medical expenses and monitor unpaid or underpaid bills, resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Ensure timely processing of medical bills to avoid delays in settlement payments.

Required profile

• Advanced English proficiency (B2/C1 level).
• At least 1 year of experience in lien negotiation, medical billing, or a related role.
• Familiarity with lien management and negotiation processes, including relevant regulations.
• Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication abilities for interacting with providers, insurers, and lienholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and provide accurate, timely updates.
