Mechanical Field Engineer – Data Center (Baton Rouge)

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Field Engineer to support the operation and upgrade of a data‑center facility in Baton Rouge, LA. The engineer will work on‑site with the client, contractors and internal teams to deliver mechanical system designs, inspections and quality assurance for HVAC, chilled water, coolant, fire protection, plumbing and process‑piping installations.

Key responsibilities

• Review vendor submittal packages and ensure compliance with client specifications and industry standards.
• Interact with subcontractors, construction personnel and client owners to coordinate mechanical work.
• Perform field inspections, audits and non‑conformance reporting (NCR) to verify construction quality and safety.
• Interpret project specifications, drawings, RFIs and submittals to develop Basis of Design (BOD) and Scope of Work (SOW) documents.
• Oversee installation, retrofits and commissioning of HVAC, chilled water, technical coolant, fire protection, plumbing and process‑piping systems.
• Collaborate with project teams to resolve issues, enforce quality standards and track corrective actions.

Required profile

• Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent professional qualification.
• Experience working on‑site with data‑center or industrial mechanical systems.
• Proven ability to coordinate with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities in a fast‑paced environment.
