Mechanical Engineer – Robotics

About the role

The Bot Company is building a helpful robot for every home. We need a Mechanical Engineer who can turn concepts into reliable, high‑volume hardware that powers our robots.

Key responsibilities

• Own mechanical design for core subsystems from concept through high‑volume production.
• Rapidly prototype, test, and iterate hardware based on real‑world performance and failure analysis.
• Design custom mechanisms, actuators, and assemblies for high‑performance robotic behavior.
• Collaborate with electrical, firmware, and manufacturing teams to deliver integrated electro‑mechanical systems.
• Drive design‑for‑manufacture, tolerance analysis, material selection, and vendor coordination for volume manufacturing.

Required profile

• Exceptional mechanical intuition and ability to reason about parts, forces, tolerances, and mechanisms.
• Proven track record of shipping reliable hardware at scale.
• Experience working directly with contract manufacturers and designing for volume processes.
• Deep expertise in custom mechanism and actuator design, including kinematics, linkage, motor selection, gearing, and tolerancing.
