Mechanical Engineer – New Graduate/Early Career

About the role

Dematic is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Salt Lake City, Utah, for candidates with 0‑5 years of experience. The role involves developing concepts, performing analyses, and supporting manufacturing and field installation of material handling equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new concepts, create layouts, and produce detailed designs.
• Perform in‑depth engineering analysis and calculations.
• Coordinate with engineers of other disciplines to ensure functional designs.
• Supervise designers and drafters in preparation of production drawings.
• Estimate cost and design requirements for external customers.
• Support manufacturing and field installation of equipment.
• Travel up to 25% to customer and Dematic locations.

Required profile

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 0‑5 years of mechanical design experience.
• Knowledge of Strength of Materials, Fatigue Design, Finite Element Analysis, Machine and Mechanism Design, Dynamic Analysis, Hydraulic & Pneumatic Design.

Required skills

• Siemens NX CAD/CAM software.
• AutoCAD software.
