About the role
The Project Engineer leads and manages engineering and design activities for complex mechanical and ocean‑deployed systems. Reporting to a Project Manager, you will ensure technical adequacy, track progress, and provide support to manufacturing, integration, and test teams.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and apply advanced analytical and design methods to produce manufacturable, serviceable solutions.
- Coordinate and supervise interdisciplinary teams of engineers, designers, drafters, technical writers, and technicians.
- Review progress, evaluate results, and manage projects of moderate scope, including resource estimation and schedule adherence.
- Write test procedures, conduct tests, compile data, and complete required documentation.
- Interact with customers to define expectations and participate in technical working groups to improve processes.
Required profile
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Ocean Engineering.
- 5–10 years of hands‑on experience in concept development, analysis, design, integration, and testing of complex mechanical or subsea systems.
- At least 3 years designing surface or subsea maritime equipment; experience with UUVs, ROVs, or launch and recovery systems is preferred.
- 2+ years leading multidisciplinary design teams.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance.
Required skills
- Proficiency with SolidWorks.
- Proficiency with MATLAB.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
