Market Cook – Seasonal Culinary Position

About the role

The Madison Club, part of Discovery Land Company, is seeking a Market Cook to join its Culinary Department for the winter and spring season. This full‑time, seasonal position runs from October through June and involves preparing high‑quality menu items in a fast‑paced kitchen while upholding food safety and service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and stock stations before service with all necessary ingredients, tools, and supplies.
• Prepare food by cutting, chopping, mixing, and creating sauces or dressings.
• Cook menu items, including pizza preparation and baking, to recipe specifications and presentation standards.
• Plate to‑go dishes under the guidance of the head chef.
• Execute orders from the ticket rail or kitchen display system accurately and on time.
• Maintain cleanliness of stations, utensils, and work areas in compliance with food safety regulations.
• Monitor ingredient quality, report shortages, and support inventory management.
• Collaborate with expeditors, lead cooks, and other station staff to ensure timely service.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a line cook, pizza cook, prep cook, or similar role (preferred).
• Food Handlers Certification obtained within 7 days of hire.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and ServSafe practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining quality.
• Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and strong communication skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and long hours as needed.
