Manufacturing Supervisor (Midnight Shift)

About the role

The Manufacturing Supervisor (Midnight Shift) at 3M in Cottage Grove, MN leads a production team during the night shift, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations. You will guide personnel, manage hazardous waste handling, and drive continuous improvement on the shop floor.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee safe handling and disposal of hazardous waste in accordance with environmental and OSHA standards.
• Schedule work priorities, coordinate maintenance, allocate assignments, and monitor workflow to meet engineering directives.
• Coach and provide feedback to employees, applying corrective actions when needed.
• Train staff on Cottage Grove processes, tools, and equipment changes.
• Maintain a safe work environment by reviewing production processes, conducting safety audits, and resolving safety‑related issues.
• Perform housekeeping audits, job safety analyses, and ensure certification and training compliance.
• Resolve process, maintenance, and equipment problems using available resources.
• Monitor equipment downtime, analyze statistical data, and develop improvement plans.
• Generate work requests, enter incident reports, and manage shift administrative tasks such as time reporting and attendance.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising manufacturing or production operations, preferably on a night shift.
• Strong knowledge of hazardous waste handling and OSHA safety regulations.
• Ability to schedule work, coordinate maintenance, and allocate resources effectively.
• Excellent communication skills for coaching, feedback, and team meetings.
• Capability to analyze statistical data and identify trends for process improvement.
