Manufacturing Engineering Technician – CNC Machining

About the role

Moog’s Military Aircraft Group in Torrance, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to support the manufacturing team. The role focuses on CNC programming, hands‑on machining, and continuous improvement of production processes.

Key responsibilities

• Define part‑processing methodology and create detailed manufacturing instructions.
• Develop and edit N/C program code for multi‑axis machines (milling, turning, 5‑axis, grinding, EDM) and assist operators with program prove‑out.
• Set up, run, and troubleshoot low‑volume pilot production runs on various CNC equipment.
• Establish tooling, gaging, and work‑holding packages for prototype and production parts.
• Improve machining methods, tooling, and fixturing to reduce cost, enhance quality, and shorten lead times.
• Collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability and develop standard operation times.
• Provide technical support to production areas and participate in daily Tiered Management meetings.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED (preferred) with strong ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Minimum five years of hands‑on CNC machining experience, including program creation and set‑up.
• Passion for continuous improvement and ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
• Proven problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.

Required skills
