Manager, People Business Partner

About the role

Mastercard’s People & Capability team is looking for a Manager, People Business Partner to lead the execution of HR programs for its U.S. locations, primarily supporting the Purchase, NY office and broader New York City workforce. The role acts as a trusted advisor to business leaders, translating enterprise people strategies into locally relevant actions and fostering a positive employee experience.

Key responsibilities

• Drive local delivery of core People & Capability programs, including talent and performance management, learning, workforce planning, employee engagement and year‑end compensation.
• Coach and advise leaders and employees on development, employee relations, rewards and HR processes.
• Manage employee relations and talent matters for U.S.-based staff in the assigned locations.
• Collect and share insights on program effectiveness, identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Partner with Centers of Expertise to ensure consistent implementation of initiatives.
• Serve as a subject‑matter expert on local labor market and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with global and regional People Business Partners on priority projects.
• Support community engagement and culture‑building activities across locations.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering corporate HR programs such as talent management and compensation planning.
• Demonstrated ability to advise leaders on complex people issues and handle sensitive employee matters.
• Strong relationship‑building skills and ability to collaborate across functions and levels.
• Agile, growth‑oriented mindset focused on simplicity, impact and continuous improvement.
