Maintenance Supervisor – Pittsburgh

About the role

This role oversees and performs technical and mechanical work to ensure that the interior and exterior of the 231‑unit community, its grounds, amenities and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, appearance, safety and functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to resident work orders, diagnose issues and perform repairs in accordance with policies, safety standards and code requirements.
• Manage the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination and final quality checks.
• Develop and maintain standards for the appearance of grounds, building exteriors, breezeways, signage, parking areas and other common spaces.
• Inspect work performed by team members, contractors and vendors to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies, and assist the Community Manager with budgeting for repairs and capital projects.

Required profile

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent combined with experience in property‑management or building maintenance.
• Hands‑on experience managing maintenance in luxury high‑rise residential communities and supporting lease‑up phases.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools and mechanical equipment, and ability to follow logical problem‑solving processes.
• Strong customer‑service and communication skills for interacting with residents, team members and vendors.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) HVAC systems.
• EPA Type I and Type II certifications; EPA Universal certification preferred.
• Ability to work with sealed HVAC systems, test pressures and handle refrigerants safely.
• Competence in using hand tools, power tools and measuring devices for maintenance tasks.
