Luxury Interior Designer - VIP Aircraft Completions

About the role

A specialist aircraft completion and refurbishment team based in Indianapolis is looking for a Luxury Interior Designer for VIP aircraft projects. The role runs from initial design concepts through aircraft delivery, turning customer ideas into beautiful, practical interiors that are ready to fly.

Key responsibilities

• Turn customer ideas into distinctive interior concepts, material palettes and finish schemes.
• Create the drawings and design packages that carry the concepts through engineering and production.
• Partner with customers, vendors, Sales, Program Management, Engineering, Procurement and Production from early planning through delivery.
• Select and document materials, finishes and specifications, updating designs as approved project changes arise.
• Work with engineering and production teams to keep the vision buildable.
• Support customer presentations, production inspections and quality reviews.
• Share expertise with Associate Interior Designers and contribute to a collaborative design team.

Required profile

• Associate's degree in Interior Design, Industrial Design or a related field; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
• At least five years of experience in aircraft completions, interior design, product design or a related design environment.
• Experience creating technical drawings and working with product design, development, fabrication or production.
• Knowledge of materials, soft goods and finishes, linked to engineering and installation requirements.
• Authorized to work in the United States and able to pass an FAA/TSA background check.

Required skills

• AutoCAD proficiency (required)
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
• Strong communication and organization skills, managing multiple priorities across teams
