Logistics Assistant – Aviation Supply Technician

About the role

The Logistics Assistant supports aviation maintenance and operational activities by managing inventory, shipping, receiving, and warehousing of aircraft parts, tools, and equipment. This position ensures timely availability of critical supplies for the Worldwide Aviation Support Services (WASS) program.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, store, issue, and inventory aviation parts and supplies.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and accountability documentation.
• Process shipping and receiving transactions, including three‑way match of invoices and material.
• Support warehousing and property management activities, including loading transport vehicles and securing cargo.
• Monitor for damaged or incorrect items and report vendor errors.
• Handle hazardous materials in accordance with MSDS, HAZMAT, and safety procedures.
• Assist with packing, crating, and transportation of aircraft parts.
• Learn and eventually test for ITAR and Hazmat certifications.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED (or local equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years of logistics or supply experience.
• Ability to obtain a Department of State MRPT or Embassy background investigation.
• Judgment within defined guidelines and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Willingness to follow verbal instructions, work independently, and adapt to shifting priorities.
