Licensed Master Social Worker – Emergency Department

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a Licensed Master Social Worker to join the Emergency Department team. This position provides critical psychosocial support to patients and families during acute care episodes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver crisis intervention and emotional support to patients and families in the emergency setting.
• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Coordinate discharge planning, referrals, and community resource linkage.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary staff to ensure holistic patient care.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record.

Required profile

• Current Arkansas licensure as a Master Social Worker.
• Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited program.
• Experience working in an emergency department or acute care environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
