About the role
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is seeking a Lead Project Archivist to oversee the processing and preservation of the Heifer International records. This full-time, on-site position is term-limited, with an anticipated duration of up to three years. The role reports to the Head Archivist and manages a small processing team.
Key responsibilities
- Arrange, describe, and preserve approximately 800 boxes of Heifer International records dating from the 1940s‑1990s.
- Lead a 2‑3 person processing team, assigning tasks and monitoring progress.
- Collaborate with the Head Archivist to develop and implement processing and digitization plans.
- Ensure compliance with archival standards and best practices for metadata and preservation.
- Coordinate with external partners and donors as needed for record access and use.
Required profile
- Minimum of several years of professional archival experience, preferably with large collections.
- Demonstrated ability to manage staff or volunteers in a processing environment.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Commitment to collaborative work within a university setting.
Required skills
- Experience with archival processing, description, and preservation techniques.
- Familiarity with digitization workflows and related equipment.
