About the role
Mastercard’s Enterprise Cryptography team is looking for a Lead Cryptographic Security Engineer to drive the implementation of its cryptographic roadmap. The role focuses on strengthening the security posture of payment applications and ensuring compliance with global cryptographic standards.
Key responsibilities
- Define and execute the cryptographic strategy, aligning with Mastercard’s security governance and key‑management policies.
- Review existing cryptographic implementations, identify gaps, and recommend remediation actions.
- Provide architectural guidance to development teams for secure data‑at‑rest and data‑in‑transit encryption.
- Collaborate with application owners to integrate cryptographic controls that meet PCI DSS, FIPS, and ISO requirements.
- Support the creation and maintenance of cryptographic standards, documentation, and compliance reporting.
Required profile
- Proven expertise in information security with a strong focus on cryptography.
- Experience advising cross‑functional teams on secure cryptographic design and implementation.
- Ability to navigate and apply security frameworks such as PCI DSS, FIPS, and ISO 27001.
