Lead Cloud Operations Engineer

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Lead Cloud Operations Engineer (also referred to as Lead SRE Engineer) to manage and support its cloud platforms. The role focuses on strengthening platform reliability, automating deployments, and enhancing observability for multiple customer applications and products.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain observability plans for cloud services.
• Provide operational support, troubleshooting, and root‑cause analysis for platform workloads.
• Manage change, problem, and incident processes, ensuring SLA and KPI adherence.
• Oversee cost management and service‑desk ticketing.
• Review and contribute to the design and architecture of cloud products.
• Support Kubernetes environments such as Amazon EKS, Azure AKS, and Red Hat OpenShift.
• Collaborate with application teams, engineering groups, and other Mastercard resources to resolve issues quickly.
• Document processes, knowledge articles, and service‑management procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement of monitoring, documentation, governance, and onboarding for cloud applications.

Required profile

• High‑energy, detail‑oriented professional with strong analytical skills.
• Proven experience in cloud operations, site reliability engineering, or L3 support.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize incidents, and communicate effectively across teams.
• Experience collaborating with engineering and application teams to operationalise new features.
