K-12 Rural Program Coordinator I

About the role

The K-12 Rural Program Coordinator I supports the Rural Medicine ISD Program at Texas A&M University by planning and delivering outreach activities that introduce K‑12 students to health‑care careers and strengthen rural health education partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize and coordinate outreach events, camps, field trips and virtual learning experiences for K‑12 students.
• Manage logistics, vendor contracts, budgets and ensure compliance with youth protection guidelines.
• Maintain relationships with rural school districts, teachers and community stakeholders, and represent the program at meetings and conferences.
• Track participation, evaluate outcomes and prepare reports to inform program development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in teaching or program coordination.
• At least two years of experience in a school district setting, preferably with pathway or health‑care education programs.
• Preferred: Texas teaching certification, five years in an educational setting, and experience with conference/event planning.
• Valid Class “C” driver’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days.
