Journeyman Plumber

About the role

Art and Wellness Enterprises (AWE) is hiring a Journeyman Plumber for its Crystal Bridges Campus in Bentonville, Arkansas. The plumber maintains, repairs and operates plumbing systems across the campus, acting as a technical expert in boiler systems, water efficiency and preventative maintenance. The role is on-site, reports to the Manager of Building Systems and is safety sensitive.

Key responsibilities

• Repair and replace fixtures (sinks, toilets, faucets, water fountains) and clean and maintain sewer lines, drain lines and grease traps
• Install, inspect and maintain water heaters, drain lines and sewer lines, troubleshooting and repairing issues
• Coordinate plumbing projects and schedules so they do not disrupt daily operations
• Supervise plumbing contractors on site and ensure compliance with ADA, City of Bentonville, Benton County and State of Arkansas codes
• Maintain files for training, certifications and annual maintenance schedules, and support inspections
• Develop preventative maintenance schedules and assist with safety program compliance (OSHA, hazardous waste, hazardous materials)
• Take part in on-call rotations and respond to after-hours and emergency calls
• Read blueprints and technical drawings, monitor plumbing inventory, and use CMMS or other software to track work orders and records
• Mentor apprentices and collaborate with electrical, HVAC and other trades

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED
• 5+ years of experience working with plumbing systems
• Valid State of Arkansas Journeyman Plumbing License and Boiler Certification (or ability to obtain it)
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and organizational skills
• Good verbal and written communication in English, confidentiality, and ability to work independently and in a team
• Physically able to lift up to 75 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment

Required skills

• Proficiency with hand and power tools, including forklifts, scissor lifts and vehicles
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to learn specialized software
