About the role
Join the Collateral Optimization desk within Scotiabank's Global Banking & Markets division in New York. The team funds non‑government assets through secondary‑market transactions, helping clients manage liquidity and balance‑sheet metrics.
Key responsibilities
- Evaluate and analyze corporate clients' financial needs and develop financial models.
- Create marketing materials, presentations, and client pitch decks.
- Support transaction structuring and execution, progressively taking on more responsibility.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities with existing and prospective clients.
- Perform comprehensive financial‑statement analysis and maintain valuation models.
- Collect, consolidate, and interpret company and industry data for analysis.
- Assist in drafting prospectuses, offering memoranda, and other transaction documentation.
- Collaborate with industry and product groups on live mandates and origination activities.
Required profile
- 0‑2 years of work experience in investment banking or a related financial services role.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial statements and market data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client presentations and documentation.
