Intern – Public Information: Communications and Outreach

About the role

This unpaid internship with the Visitors Services Section of the UN Outreach Division offers a hands‑on opportunity to support public information, communications and outreach activities in New York. The role is primarily onsite and can be full‑time (35 hours/week) or part‑time, lasting 4‑6 months with a preferred start date of 24 August 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in outreach activities, including guided tours, briefings, events and multimedia projects.
• Conduct research on UN thematic issues and draft correspondence, short articles, fact‑sheets and social‑media content.
• Respond to visitors’ queries in person and in writing.
• Support the design, implementation and analysis of visitor‑experience surveys.
• Capture photographs and videos for communication purposes.
• Perform other duties as required by the supervising staff member.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or having completed the final academic year of a bachelor’s degree program, or enrolled in/completed a graduate program.
• Strong interest in public information, communications and international affairs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
