About the role

The Instrumentation Engineer will design, develop, integrate, and maintain electrical and instrumentation systems for the test department of a cutting‑edge aerospace propulsion company. This fast‑paced, hardware‑focused position requires strong communication across multidisciplinary teams and a hands‑on approach to measurement‑system development.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the design, analysis, development, integration, and maintenance of test‑department electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Select, integrate, and validate sensors for low‑speed and high‑speed data acquisition, including signal conditioning, amplification, filtering, and scaling.
  • Design and fabricate wiring harnesses, generate and revise schematics, and develop robust test setups for large‑ and small‑scale hardware.
  • Generate test procedures, review test data for anomalies, and support grounding, shielding, and EMI mitigation.
  • Install, wire, troubleshoot, and commission test instrumentation systems, collaborating with software teams for automated testing.

Required profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering, or 7+ years of relevant hands‑on test experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in instrumentation, controls, or test engineering with a strong foundation in signal conditioning and data acquisition.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, hardware‑centric environment.

Required skills

  • Signal conditioning, data acquisition, measurement uncertainty, filtering, noise, grounding, and EMI mitigation.
  • Experience with NI PXI, cDAQ, cRIO systems, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and power supplies.
  • Proficiency in LabVIEW, MATLAB, Python, and DIAdem for data analysis and automated testing.
  • Hands‑on work with a wide range of sensors (voltage, 4‑20 mA, bridge, IEPE, thermocouples, RTDs, pressure transducers, accelerometers, load cells, flowmeters).
  • Use of CAD modeling software and familiarity with Confluence, Jira, and Microsoft Office Suite.
