Instructor / Assistant Professor – Forest Business

About the role

The Center for Forest Business at the University of Arkansas at Monticello seeks an enthusiastic Instructor/Assistant Professor to lead undergraduate and graduate education in forest business, economics, and management while supporting industry outreach and applied research.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in forest business, economics, and management (approximately 40% of effort).
• Provide outreach and technical support to Arkansas’s forest industry, fostering sustainable economic growth (approximately 40%).
• Conduct applied research aligned with the needs of the forest sector in Arkansas and the broader US South (approximately 20%).

Required profile

• MS or PhD in forest economics, forest finance, forest business, or a closely related field.
• Undergraduate degree in forestry or practical forestry experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with industry partners and promote sustainable forest-based economic development.

Required skills

• Proficiency with GIS software.
• Experience creating factsheets or infographics using tools such as Canva.
