Institutional Services Assistant

About the role

The Institutional Services Assistant works within the university’s student housing facilities, ensuring that residence halls, apartments, rental houses, and common areas are clean, safe, and welcoming for students and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Remove trash from buildings and transport it to dumpster sites.
• Sanitize and re‑line trash receptacles.
• Wipe down furniture, tables, cabinets, and other surfaces.
• Clean walls, floors, windows, window sills, stairways, and entryways.
• Sweep, mop, strip, wax, and buff floors.
• Vacuum and shampoo carpets.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: one year of commercial cleaning experience, including general cleaning and floor care.
• Ability to perform physical tasks and follow safety and institutional policies.

Required skills

• Floor stripping and waxing techniques.
• Carpet shampooing.
