HR Director

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR Director to lead the human resources strategy and daily operations for a growing organization in Sarasota, Florida. The role requires a hands‑on leader who can partner with department heads, guide a small HR team, and support a diverse workforce across operations, administration, and leadership functions.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with operational and corporate leaders to shape HR strategies that drive workforce growth, retention, and organizational goals.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of HR professionals, assigning priorities and fostering a collaborative culture.
• Anticipate staffing needs across all functions and create recruiting plans to strengthen talent pipelines.
• Oversee performance review processes, identify development opportunities, and manage performance concerns with clear documentation.
• Maintain HR policies, records, and practices in line with employment standards and safety requirements.
• Support benefits administration, including open enrollment and employee inquiries.
• Manage employee relations matters, providing consistent guidance on sensitive workplace issues.
• Contribute to HR process improvements and the rollout of consolidated HR systems and tools.

Required profile

• 5+ years of progressive HR experience with leadership responsibility.
• Proven ability to balance strategic planning with hands‑on execution in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong background in employee relations, HR administration, benefits coordination, and compliance management.
• Experience leading, mentoring, and delegating work to HR staff while maintaining accountability.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred.
• HR certification and strong attention to detail preferred.
