Housekeeper – Islander Housing

About the role

Texas A&M University‑Corpus Christi is seeking a Housekeeper for its Islander Housing community. The role involves maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in resident rooms, hallways, common areas and bathrooms across the campus housing facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Vacuum carpeted areas in resident rooms, hallways and common spaces.
• Mop and clean tiled surfaces in rooms and shared areas.
• Empty trash containers and restock custodial supplies.
• Clean bathrooms, including tubs, showers and toilets.
• Report maintenance issues through work order requests.
• Follow safety procedures and use safety equipment such as AEDs and fire extinguishers.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional appearance and ability to work with students and staff.
• Knowledge of safety equipment usage and cleaning methods.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb and work in temperature extremes.
• Commitment to a drug‑free workplace.
