House Manager & Family Assistant (Meal Prep & Backup Childcare)

About the role

We are a close‑knit family of four in Hoboken, NJ, seeking a part‑time House Manager & Family Assistant to help keep our home running smoothly. The role blends household organization, meal planning, and backup childcare, working alongside our full‑time nanny to support our two young boys.

Key responsibilities

• Organize and maintain household systems such as closets, pantry, and toy storage.
• Perform daily tidying, load/unload dishwasher, wipe surfaces, and vacuum high‑traffic areas.
• Plan, shop for, and prepare healthy lunches and dinners 3‑4 times per week, including packing school meals.
• Provide backup childcare for school pickups, after‑school activities, and occasional weekend coverage.
• Manage family calendars, appointments, school activities, and coordinate service providers.
• Run errands including grocery shopping, dry cleaning, and package pickups.
• Handle laundry, ironing, and linen rotation for the family.
• Oversee vehicle maintenance, fueling, cleaning, and documentation.

Required profile

• Proactive and dependable, with a strong ability to anticipate family needs.
• Highly organized, capable of creating and maintaining household systems.
• Warm, patient, and comfortable interacting with young children.
• Flexible schedule to adapt to changing family demands, including occasional weekends.
• Team‑oriented, able to collaborate effectively with the full‑time nanny and other household staff.
• Preferably fluent in Spanish to support the children’s language immersion.
• Current CPR certification (or willingness to renew) and up‑to‑date vaccinations.
