Heavy Industrial Maritime Manufacturing Estimator

About the role

Collins Machine Works is seeking a dedicated Federal Contractor Maritime Manufacturing Estimator to develop accurate cost estimates for federal maritime projects. The role supports competitive bidding and strategic growth of the company’s maritime manufacturing operations.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze RFQs, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements for maritime vessels and components.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management, and procurement to produce comprehensive cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and fabrication.
• Assess risks and embed mitigation strategies into estimates.
• Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and cost drivers.
• Present detailed bid packages to senior management and participate in post‑award reviews.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship with ability to access DoD facilities; background check required.
• 5–10 years of experience in heavy industrial maritime manufacturing or shipbuilding (machining side).
• Familiarity with federal contracting regulations (FAR, DFARS) and ability to read engineering drawings.
• Valid driving record.
