Generator Repairs Technician

About the role

The Generator Repairs Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and testing generators and related equipment in a manufacturing environment. The role ensures that all repairs meet quality specifications and that documentation is accurately recorded.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose generator malfunctions using voltmeters and other testing devices.
• Repair or replace broken components and reassemble equipment after repairs.
• Perform functional tests throughout the repair process to verify compliance with quality standards.
• Track time and component traceability in the DCS computer system for costing and reporting.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to complete tasks.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow 6S and Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Operate overhead crane and forklift as needed, obtaining certification if required.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• Basic electrical and mechanical knowledge with strong troubleshooting ability.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering change orders, repair manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Reliable attendance and adherence to company time‑and‑attendance policies.
• Capability to work independently, take initiative, and respond to changing priorities.
